Off to a mission

My little brother put in his papers and he was called to serve in the North Quito, Ecuador mission. After a big ordeals, for when he left he forgot to get our e-mail addresses and we couldn't communicate with him, we finally got some news.

He arrived at Colombia on July 23rd and moved back to Quito after 3 weeks. He is now serving in Quito and is really excited about the work.

I am so very proud of my brother, for we know how important missionary work is. I always think if it wasn't for two young kids, Elder Mickelsen and Elder Schaucher, just like my brother, who happened to be walking to their apartments one July night in Brooklyn, I wouldn't be here today and enjoying the family i have.

I often think my brother like the little boy of 11 I left in Guayaquil 8 years ago, but looking at this picture now i can see the great young man that he has become.

I am so happy for the blessings that he will receive by helping others and for the experiences and memories this mission will bring into his life

Return with Honor Julito!!!

Visit to the South Jordan Temple

As a convert of the church I have come to realize many things in life and one of them is the knowledge that I have regarding families. What an amazing gift it is to know that you can be sealed together for all eternities, and it all happens within the walls of that beautiful building.

My in laws invited us to come with them to the South Jordan Temple open house.
Taking Julia and Josh with me into a place that is going to help so many families become sealed just filled my heart with joy.
Josh's favorite song is "I love to see the temple", He could be crying non-stop, but as soon as he hears that song he quiets down immediately.
I know my kids can feel how important the temples are, for every time we drive by one Julia says, "look mommy Heavenly Father's house"
I know that I feel it, for every time I walked into one my soul rejoices and is full of happiness.
Families can be together forever through Heavenly Father's plan

kittie!!!

It was Saturday a couple of weeks ago and i had the great idea, or not, of going into PetCo. So low and behold we came in and they had a lot of pets up for adoption.
They talked me into fostering one for a couple of days, and of course softy me and in disregard of my cat allergies, I accepted.
How could you say no when your kids look so sweet holding the kitty into their hands and even naming it. It truly melted my heart
So perhaps this little kitten only made it into our house for a short time, but I will forever remember the tenderness they had for cute little "mittens". This was the name we gave her.
