september recap

September 1st
Loving that baby

Andrew has really become a fan of Daniel. He asks for him when he wakes up and always gives him a hug and a kiss good morning. Whenever he cries, he is the first to come to the rescue to little D.
On this day I left Daniel on the couch while I was making dinner, next thing I noticed was Andrew laying next to his baby brother giving him his pacifier so he would stop crying. My two little ones you are so sweet

September 3rd
Labor Day

With Spencer parent’s out of town we decided it was time to celebrate this holiday on our own. After thinking the whole morning of an inexpensive activity we could all have fun with, we decided to go to the Roy Aquatic Center.
It was a blast! The kids loved every second of it. Julia and Josh were really confident in the water and even Andrew had no problem trying to swim, I must say I was a little nervous about Andrew’s lack of concern regarding the deep parts of the pool. This little boy believed he could swim, dive and go underwater. It was great seeing all three kids put into practice what they learned during swimming lessons this summer.

They were very proud to show their daddy all the tricks they could do. All three of them were brave enough to go down the big toboggan.

Daniel was a good boy and slept the entire time inside his car seat.

After we had our fun playing in the water, we went to Texas Roadhouse to finish our holiday outing. That was the perfect way to end a perfect day.

September 10th
Andrew’s broken arm

It was Monday morning about noon. I was working in the garage and the boys were riding their Power Wheels. Josh was driving the truck while Andrew was sitting on the back of it. Josh drove the truck over to my side to say hi to me and next thing I know Andrew starts to cry. I turned my head towards him and saw him crying face down on the floor. After 20 minutes of non-stop crying I decided to give him a sucker to calm him down and here is when I realized that something was wrong. A.D. couldn’t lift his right arm to take the sucker from me. Only something big could keep Andrew away from candy.

I called Spencer and he met me at the Insta-Care and took Josh and Daniel from me, thank goodness I didn’t have car pool to pick up that day.
We spent 3 hours waiting and having x-rays done and sure enough the results came in. Andrew had fractured the radius on his right arm. They put a temporary cast that day and a little sling to keep his arm from moving. Since either of us had had lunch yet at 3, we stopped at a Burger King and had a little time with each other. The fries must of work their magic because he was willing to smile for a picture

September 4th
Joshua’s first day of preschool

Joshua was so excited to start preschool, although It took me a while to convince him that he was not going to kindergarten yet which made him very dissapointed.
I am doing joy school with him again. He was so happy to see some of his friends from last year and meet his new friends. Teaching is going to be a bit of a challenge this year, we have 10 kids total in our class and their ages range from 2 ½ to 4, we'll see how it goes in january since I don't have to teach until then.
Joshua is on the older group of kids. The teachers told me that he actually took the time to help the smaller children in the class. I was so proud to hear that and I could really tell on the way he behaved towards Andrew on days after having school. Hope you learn lots of new things this year big guy, next year off to kindergarten for sure.

September 8th
The blue whales

This was the start of a new soccer season. My sweet #3 player has been anticipating fall soccer for the longest time. The team name is: “The Blue Whales” and it is made out of 8 players; 2 of them are friends from our neighborhood. We have the same coach as last year, he is a great teacher and the girls just love him.
Soccer will be a little bit more demanding this year. We have practice on Thursdays at 5:30 pm for an hour which means I need to find me some slow cooker recipes otherwise we will be having pizza every Thursday.
Games are also an hour long this year. Julia is so excited to be able to get more playing time.

I am implementing new rules this year too. We usually get ice cream whenever Julia scores which is really often and the boys just tag along and get an ice cream for themselves so I decided that if they want to partake of the rewards afterwards they need to do some work as well. They need to cheer for Julia in order to get a big ice cream cone; otherwise they just get a courtesy cone from Arctic Circle. So far it seems to be working. The boys are more into the game and into cheering for their sister than ever.

During practice I notice a couple of things that have change on Julia’s game:

-She hates playing defense

-She hates sitting out

-She is more outgoing than what she was last year. She goes for the ball and is not afraid to kick it.

-She has a lot of stamina, 1 hour games are not physically demanding on her at all.

- she LOVES scoring goals

September 14th
CaT nAp

Here is my little sweet boy finally sleeping all snuggled up on his bed, the only problem is that it is 2:30 in the afternoon and I soon need to wake him up because we need to pick Julia up from school.

September 15th
Meet “Blue”.

We went back to the doctor with Andrew today so that he could get his hard cast on. We get to pick a color and the color he chose was blue. Andrew was such a good boy while they were putting the cast. He didn’t cry. His only request was for me to cover his face so that he wouldn’t see what the doctor was doing.

He was so proud to show his cast to everyone. Spencer bought a silver marker to have people write on it.  Josh wrote his own name and Julia drew a choo-choo for him. He loved the attention he was getting.

September19th
The three amigos

Ever since Andrew broke his arm these three kids have become inseparable. They play together for hours until dinner time. I love the friendship that they have with each other, it melts my heart.

aren't these the cutest superheros ever! They were rescuing babies that day

They made those pirate hats during story time at our city library and we had a little play time before bed.

September 20th

First Joy School Field trip
Antelope Island

Our first field trip this year was to Antelope Island. The day turned out beautiful. We started by having a tour and going on a little hiking trail by the visitor’s center. The views from up there were gorgeous. The kids loved climbing on rocks and learning about nature.

Here is Josh’s cute little preschool group.
After the presentation the boys and I went to grab some lunch and brought it back to have a picnic at the beach. After we ate we decided to walk towards the water, now that was a big mistake. It took us 40 minutes to get there and it was hard work. First the sand was too soft to walk on so I had to maneuver getting Daniel and Andrew across it. After that the sand became rocky and very sharp so again we had to figure it out how to walk on it. Finally we made it to the water. Even though my arm muscles were tired and my legs were cramping it was so worth it.
The kids and I had a great time, we played on the sand for 3 hours until it was time to pick Julia up from school.

Here is a picture pf the distance between the picnic area and the water, yeap, we walked all that

Safety Week at Costco

Later on that day we visited Spencer at work. They were having their safety week and the Ogden fire department was having an exhibit on Costco's parking lot. The kids loved seeing inside of the ambulance and going inside of the fire trucks. We even got to watch how they pulled a vehicle apart in a pretend rescue mission.

The best part was having a free linner(lunch-dinner) with daddy

September 22nd
Too much fun

I’ve been working on my back yard, trying to reclaim it from those pesky weeds before it gets too cold. I had been working for 5 hours this day and Andrew was keeping me company while I was outside, all the sudden it got really quiet, I turned around and in a matter of seconds he had fallen asleep on the swing. He was so peaceful I think I let him stay there for 20 minutes before I brought him inside the house

September 27th
Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics

I was lucky enough to find some discounted tickets for this event. I didn’t tell Julia until 2 days before the event and she about flipped over with excitement. Her face was glowing and her smile reached both ears. We had a date night, just her and I and My friend Tara and her two daughters.
We started our night by going to dinner at Chili’s. We ate so much that I am not sure how we managed to walk to the show afterwards. I think I had 5 diet vanilla cokes which I came to find out are perfect with spicy food.

We got seats that were usually $75 for $25. They were at the center of the arena which made it perfect to see all the things going on on the stage.
Unfortunately I was not able to take any pictures inside because they made me leave my camera in the car, but it was an amazing experience. Here is a picture of the picture I took with my phone (I don’t know how to transfer those pics. to my computer). This is Julia with Alicia Sacramone one of the gymnast from the 2008 team USA.
The show was fantastic and Julia could hardly keep herself on her seat. She was standing up cheering and clapping during the different segments of the show.

We got autographs and a little souvenir and cotton candy of course
And that is a wrap for this month a lot of fun little things, can't wait for October!
