3 YEARS OLD

It is so crazy that my little monkey has turned 3 years old already. I can still remember being on the operating room and just peeking at his hairy little self.
He has grown up so much in the past couple of months. His speech is finally coming in and fast. He tells me stories every night when we are on bed. He doesn’t have a routine for anything he changes his likes and dislikes on a daily basis.
He is a really sweet guy and loves to have hugs and kisses from his mommy. He is very sentimental and open about his feelings. If he doesn’t like something he expresses his feelings immediately.
He is a tender and loving older brother. I think Daniel is so blessed that he is the one that stays home from school and not Joshua.

Andrew’s creativity and imagination makes me laugh sometimes. Here are a couple of stories that have survived in my memory.
He loves to catch potato bugs. A couple of weeks ago we were in our back yard and he found an entire family of them I guess. I heard him say this is daddy and mommy and baby. Seconds later he ran towards me and said “oh no mommy, I broke the daddy (squashed in half to be precised) It’s not sticking together anymore please fix him”.  I told him that I couldn’t fix him. He replied “you put some monkey (gorilla) glue on it please”.

Then a couple of days ago they were playing on the front yard. One of our neighbors has a b-b gun and was shooting it around. Julia and Joshua were very interested on the weapon and kept following our neighbor and picking up his used ammunition. A couple of minutes later Andrew came up crying very emotionally towards me. I asked him what was the matter and he said “Joshua took my baby”. What baby I asked. “The baby I found on the floor”. I approached Josh to figure out what baby he had taken away from his brother and he said, I just took this b-b but I’ll give it back to him. Apparently Andrew was eaves dropping on the other kids while they were playing and misunderstood the word b-b for baby. Anyways when Joshua gave him the tiny green ball back he cradled it on his hand and said “oh tiny baby it’s ok” I laughed so hard and tried to explain to him that it wasn’t a baby but he didn’t care. To him there are babies inside those acrylic tiny balls and he cares for them when he finds one on the floor.
He is very sweet with younger kids. At nursery, teachers tell me he gives up the toys he is playing with if a smaller kid wants it and he is always taking care of the little kids in his class.
Andrew can spell his name and knows all his letters and phone number. Apparently he was actually listening when I tried to teach him.
