June recap

I need to catch up with Daniel. He has grown so much in the past couple of weeks he jumped from a size 9 months to 2t. His personality is definitely showing up more.

Field Day
Two weeks before school gets out, Julia's school has their field day. They entire school walks over to the park across the street and they have fun and play different activities, all of which involve water,
This is the most anticipated day for the kids. I don’t think Julia was able to sleep that night just thinking about it. All the students made t-shirts this year. Julia’s class was team “Pawsome”.

Pee Wee Sports
One day at Josh’s baseball game Andrew approached me and asked me how come he never did sports? I felt so bad so that night I went straight to the computer to try and find and activity for him to do.
Most of them required the kids to be 5. Andrew was almost 3 so I found pee wee sports at the Clearfield center. He was by far the youngest kid in his class.
The classes began and wouldn’t you know it he loved it. He was so excited to be doing something but I am afraid the excitement only lasted 20 minutes. His focus ran out after that and he just wanted to hit the cones. So that’s why you don’t do any sport yet my love.

Andrew had a great time. He got a Medal and a popsicle after his last class. He was thrilled... about the popsicle.

Last day of school
As tradition demands it we had to have a ‘last day of school photo’. Julia’s school had a free dress day that day so she was so excited to pick out the clothes she was going to wear

Summer activities have begun
With school being out it is hard to entertain these kids. After just one week I was done. This is what they were becoming until my hormones kicked in.
Spencer says I am crazy for taking the kids to do all these activities, but lately I have been thinking about how much longer do I really have until they are the ones telling me that they don’t want to go.
I love the stage they are on right now. It is fun, exciting but still innocent and sweet. So here is my crazy schedule.
The libraries this year have some really fun activities going on for the kids. Prizes, movie day, learning activities, shows, but the best part was that they were all free.

I love this picture. The boys didn't like that snake, so Julia comforted them

We also went to Salt Lake City for their annual “Read today Event”. We rode the train to Salt Lake and walked over to the mall. We had such a great time! They had a scavenger hunt, free cotton candy and popcorn, rides, music, prizes.  Curious note, most of the prizes were won by spinning a wheel. Julia got lip gloss every time and then there was Josh getting the top prizes everywhere. We came home with 4 free t-shirt, balls and books. That kid certainly has a lucky hand.

If you were able to complete the scavenger hunt you were allowed to go to the free fair games section. They had a table where you could fill a bag full of candy and dozens of games where kids could play as much as they wanted for free. Julia wanted her face painted, so while I stayed in line to save our spot they went around the booths playing games.

There was one booth which main prize was a stuffed animal. Julia really wanted to win it but the game was rather difficult to play. She went time and time again without such luck. She approached me with a very sad face saying that there was no way she could win that game. Right then Andrew approached the booth and on his first try guess what he got? He ran over with the pink teddy bear towards Julia and gave it to her. Julia in return gave him some of her candy.
We really had a great time, before it was time for us to come home we stopped to have a picture with the “bee” and also play in the fountain for a bit. Ah, we were exhausted by the time we made it home but it was definitely worth it.

Splash Pad
Just a little play date with the cousins

Monster’s University
This was a blast! With the new Monsters movie coming up, they had programs to help promote the movie. The Farmington Cinemark was hosting one of those parties. We were there for 4 and ½ hours and we didn’t feel the time go by. They had games, free bouncing houses, contests and face painting. Julia ended up winning a t-shirt and josh won a monsters Inc. pedz dispenser. Fun times and made it back just in time for Julia’s piano lessons.

Build & Grow
I found out that Lowe's and the Home Depot offer a free do it yourself clinic for kids. We got signed up and were ready to build. The kids loved the little hammers they had available for them to use and had so  much figuring out how to put together their "toy"

Just a random day with no running around. Relaxing on the hammock enjoying some ice cream cones

Syracuse Kid’s night
Since June is the international day to celebrate children, our city has a day were day have free rides and games for the kids. Free fun only 5 minutes away from home is what I call a treat.

We left with a bag full of treats and a smile on our faces.

Brewers Update
The fun continues. Joshua has been able to catch a couple of hits. Still, he is more interested on the how’s and why’s of the game rather than the game itself. I can often hear him asking the coach some really serious questions about baseball.

He is improving a lot on his batting but doesn’t really care about catching the ball. He rather be playing with the grass or looking up the sky.

Pony ride
One of Julia’s friends from school invited her to her birthday party. She was so excited because the party was at a castle park and they could ride on ponies. I got introduced to some ladies that happen to be from Ecuador too.

Daniel is 11 months
There should really be a rule forbidding your last kid to grow up too fast. I am not happy about how grown up he looks.
