Halloween

Ah, Halloween! The second favorite holiday for our kids.
NDPA Carnival
We started off at the kid's school carnival. It was so darn cute. There were games in every classroom at the Junior High. Free balloon animals, photo booth, and coloring pumpkins. At the gym they had 3 inflatable bouncy slides. The kids absolutely loved it.
We had so much fun. I think the kids played each game 5 times.

This is Andrew after winning a cupcake in the cake walk.

The kids were anxiously waiting to see Madam Gomberg. She is the principal of the school and dresses up as a fortune teller.
She told Julia she was going to be a doctor. Joshua was going to be a building architect and Andrew was going to be a soccer star. That was ‘spot on’ with all of them.
Trick or treating at Legacy house
This is a great opportunity for the kids to get started on their trick or treating and visit with Grandma James. It was Daniel's nap time. He tried going to sleep but the idea of getting more candy wouldn't let him go dow.

Ward Halloween party
This was the first year that our ward put together a Halloween party. It was excellent. There were games for the kids, chili cook offs, corn bread, costume parade and at the end of the night the young women broke into the floor to dance Thriller from M.J.

Carving our pumpkins
I was so glad Spencer was home this year to help carve the kids pumpkins. They were very specific with the things they wanted. Julia wanted a butterfly, Josh a scary face with pointy teeth and Andrew wanted whatever Joshua was getting.
We had great fun. Here are those works of art all finished.

Syracuse Pumpkin walk
We couldn’t miss the Syracuse pumpkin walk. We had an early dinner and headed over to see the pumpkins. The night was gorgeous to be amongst lit pumpkins.
The kids had their pictures taken with their favorite carved pumpkins. Julia’s favorites were princesses; Joshua’s were sharp teethed ones; Andrew loved the Disney Character one and Daniel was drawn to the train ones.
Julia had her pet from school that day, a stuffed animal that she brought with her to the walk.

The one thing the kid’s love the most about the walk is that there are people roaming around dressed up as star war characters. Darth Vader, is always a favorite.
Our household tradition is that on Halloween eve we have a terrifying dinner. Witchelina, our family witch, brings us a recipe to try. This year the menu consisted of:
-Witches hair over monkey brains and covered with bat guts
- swamp water
-roasted crickets
She also brought us a treat. Some scary clementine’s

HALLOWEEN
On Halloween day Julia got a scary lunch. She was so excited to eat this thing I put together at the last minute. Love when inspiration knows it’s needed.
Our day started with a Halloween party for the joy school kids. We had it at the church. The kids played games, ate some tummy treats and did some trick or treating with each other.

After school and homework were done we headed to Krispy cream for our free donuts and to the mall. The kids got so much candy there and ice cream cones, cookies, popcorn. It was awesome.

On our way home we stopped at our favorite Halloween decorated houses. This year they were both giving full size candy bars.

After eating a quick slice of pizza, Spencer took the kids trick or treating around our neighborhood. They were excited because some of the houses had games and tricks for the kids.
So about 9 at night Megatron(Joshua), Bumblebee(Andrew), Rapunzel bride(Julia) and a little monkey called it quits. Daniel stayed home with me giving the candy and answering the door for the trick or treaters.
